How To Make Your Car Smells Nice Every Time

Car owners usually put more effort into making sure their cars’ exterior is in a good condition but forget about the interior side. We use our cars for everything; buying groceries, exploratory day trips with friends and to work Mondays till Fridays. From our activities, bad odours are accumulated in the car.

Read more to find out how you can remove any bad smells from your car with coffee, baking soda and more.

Coffee

When shopping for perfume, you have probably been offered a small container filled with coffee grounds in between smelling the different fragrances. This is to neutralize your sense of smell so you don’t get your perfumes mixed up.

Coffee effectively absorbs odour to a neutralized level and it can help you remove any bad odour from your vehicle.

Place coffee powder or beans in a secure container and store them neatly under your seat or in the bonnet for a few hours or overnight. If you love to have the smell of coffee in your car at all times, just leave them until the next time you look for a new fragrance for your car.

Baking soda

Baking soda isn’t just for baking purposes as the name may suggest, it’s great for removing stains and bad odour! This alkaline powder is a natural air deodorizer.

Trying to get rid of the smell of junk food from last night? Just sprinkle a good amount on the floor of your car and in the trunk and leave for 30 minutes. Vacuum all the baking soda once the smell is removed.

You can also opt to get a box of baking soda, poke a few holes in it and leave it in the car. This will deodorize your car constantly, so no more lingering smells!

Charcoal

Charcoal is nature’s toxin absorber. It can be used for many things from beauty and health to an aquarium filter. With many types of charcoal available in the market, briquettes will do the trick!
For those unaware, briquettes are the same kind of charcoal you would use for your barbecues. Leave a bag of them in your car overnight and it will absorb the bad odour from your car.
Fun fact: The charcoal is still safe to be used for your planned barbeque night, so you don’t have to throw them away.

Air freshener

Need something quick and easy? Just get an air freshener.

They are available in all kinds of stores; petrol stations, groceries stores, etc. To make sure that the new smell won’t just mix with the unpleasant smell (creating an odour that’s even worse), completely deodorize your car first. Once that’s done, just place the air freshener by your car’s A/C.

Opt to buy fragrance made with essential oils for a natural scent that’s not full of chemicals.

Air

Don’t have any of the items mentioned before? Just roll down your windows! By allowing for proper ventilation in your car, the air from outside will push out the bad odour from your car.

As a safety precaution, don’t leave your windows down without monitoring your car.
